The Joy Of Our ESIS Program

You've all heard me talk about ESIS before. Well, it came through again with flying colors. We gave out interims today and when my 04 class came in they all began complaining that they did not have a grade for Anatomy. I had previously checked ESIS after inputting grades and they were all fine. So I went back into ESIS and the program had erased that class's grades! Before you accuse me of not saving the grades let me point out that the interims had my comments printed for the class but no grades! It was rather humorous seeing "outstanding work" next to a blank grade. I went back into ESIS and put the grades in again. I then had to write the grades into each interim and initial them. I don't know where these grades disappeared to but at least the other two classes were ok. I just love ESIS!!

ESIS is a grade and attendance program that our county's schools are now forced to use. It constantly crashes and hangs up. Sometimes grades inputted simply disappear.

A Little Nervous Now?

Well, the students who were recently coasting along doing no work are finally starting to wake up. Wednesday the interim reports go out and they are terrified that they are going to be grounded for life. So now it's "What can I do to raise my grades?". Well, how about doing something novel like studying and turning in work? It's really simple but some of them have dug an academic hole for themselves now and it will take more than one or two good grades to dig themselves out of it. Why do they do this to themselves? Oh well, I'll still be around to help them pick up the pieces and get their grades back up where they belong. Morning help, makeup labs and tests, all of it is being offered. It's what I get paid the big bucks for around here.
