Casper Farewell

We got a card from Casper's oncologist with a very touching, heartfelt letter. I told her that they did all that was possible for Casper. I just wish that veterinary medicine wasn't so far behind human medicine. Most people won't pay what's necessary to save one of their furkids and that's something I've never understood. Here is a nice Casper photo. It's off of my website and shows him on the left with his buddy Beau on the right.

I'm sorry about your Kittie, he's beautiful. I have two cats also and I would be devastated.

That is a beautiful picture.

I think a lot of people don't realize the expense when they get a pet. I've had a lot. We paid 1500 for Salsa (our dog) to have knee surgury.

Varmint (our cat) has broken one leg, and had to have another amputated. That is a story, let me tell you. The *vet* actually suggested putting her to sleep because the kids might be freaked out by her having three legs! I was like, "You have got to be kidding me. That baby climbed over a 6' privacy fence with that leg dangling for my help!" Of course, she is still here with us. Is that crazy or what??? I couldn't believe the attitude of the vet.

Anyway, I guess my point is that a lot of people get animals because they are cute and don't consider the long-term.
